Spring Break Part 3: Venice!

For any of those who know me, you know that I love the water. If I'm at the beach, on the boat, or turning up the water on the jet ski's I always have a big grin on my face. So my trip to Venice was like going to heaven. It is such a beautiful place and the only way to get around is either by boat or by foot. Their taxi's and city busses are even boats.

Normal taxi for Venice. A little better than yellow cab.

There's not a whole lot to "do" in Venice so we kinda just wondered around for a day. We would walk, sit down and have a beer at a water front cafe, and then continue to wander. Occasionally walk into a shop or two and buy some things but for the must part moseyed. As we moseyed around I was continually looking for recognizable places or buildings from the Italian Job. At one point we made our way over to San Marco Square, but could not afford anything in this area of town. So we continued on. The only problem with Venice is that it comes off maze like because the only streets that you can walk on are the width of a person and a half, surrounded by five story buildings. Also they don't believe in dead-end signs, so sometime the street would just dead end into a canal bulkhead or a dock. We only spent a total of about eleven hours in Venice but it was totally worth it! Here's some pictures from our days stroll:
Gondola's.

Of corse we found a massive church.

The inside of the church. There were organs playing the entire time and it was mesmerizing to listen to.

Me and mike, the white building is a hotel that I want to stay at.
You can only come and leave by boat.
